Safety First Aid |
Emergencies can happen at any time – at work, at home, at play or while travelling. When an emergency does occur, knowing how to administer first aid correctly, could very well spell the difference between life and death.
First aid is given to preserve life, prevent further injuries and promote recovery. Certain conditions such as severe bleeding or asphyxiation require immediate treatment if the patient is to survive. In such cases, even a few seconds delay could mean death.
Fiji Red Cross has two components to its Safety First Aid Programme – Community Safety and Commercial First Aid.
Commercial First Aid is a fee earning programme offered through public courses. On site courses for businesses and communities can also be delivered based on prior arrangement with the Safety Coordinator at National Office. A minimum of 20 people are required for on site courses.
The certificates awarded at the end of the respective courses are certified by the Training and Productivity Authority of Fiji (TPAF) and is grant claimable.
