Red Cross promotes preventative measures on typhoid in Navosa, Nadroga.

In our efforts to promote hygiene and create awareness on the prevention of typhoid, the Society through its Sigatoka Branch visited villages in Nadroga, Navosa on 7 June. Led by Sigatoka Branch President Peni Sauvaka and the Society's Health & Care Coordinator Marica Kepa, the teams consisting of 15 branch volunteers conducted awareness sessions and delivered key community messages on boiling of drinking water, hand washing, personal hygiene and food safety to 10 villages namely Korolevu, Keiyasi, Nukuilau, Korovou, Namoli, Draiba, Vatubalavu, Narata, Rararua and Dreke in Nadroga, Navosa.

As well as creating and delivering awareness sessions, they distributed hygiene packs that includes antibacterial soap and hand washing gel with relevant IEC materials as a preventative measure for villagers to use to help keep themselves safe from the disease.
